Making Brick-and-Mortar Stores a Part of the Wider Sustainability Charge

Daily Harvest, the company on a mission to make it easy to eat more sustainably-grown fruits and vegetables, has officially announced availability for its products at Costco across 82 warehouses and 12 states in the Midwest. Marking its first ever appearance throughout the retail giant’s network, Daily Harvest will begin this collaboration by launching its top-selling Strawberry + Peach Smoothie as a four-pack across the stated Costco locations. Talk about the Strawberry + Peach Smoothie for a second, it is already known as one of the biggest fan favorites from nearly 30 different craveable Smoothie flavors that Daily Harvest has introduced so far. This it has been able to achieve due to a medley of sweet strawberries, tart raspberries, and sour goji berries that link up with juicy peaches, gentle oats and nutty flax seeds to offer customers an extraordinary taste. Not just taste, though, the stated smoothie is also made with all organic ingredients, something which gives it a respectable content of vitamins A, C and B6, while simultaneously making the drink a good source of potassium, fiber, copper and folate. To further explain the popularity of Daily Harvest’s Strawberry + Peach Smoothie, since its launch, customers have consumed nearly two Olympic-sized swimming pools full of it, making the beverage highest ranked and the most reordered item across Smoothie portfolio.

“We’re excited to bring Daily Harvest to Costco for the first time and hope Costco members find value and nourishment in our Strawberry + Peach four-pack,” said  Annie Streit, Chief Sales Officer at Daily Harvest. “Expanding our footprint from our online DTC business to brick-and-mortar retail, particularly in the club channel, allows us to introduce our quick-to-prep food to many more consumers and meet them directly in the freezer aisle.”

Owing to the given development, Costco members can stock up on the Strawberry + Peach Smoothie during its 13-week rotation at select locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Markedly enough, across participating warehouses, the retail giant will also host in-store sampling with leading coconut water company Vita Coco so to give consumers a gist of its refreshing and delicious nature.

Although pretty significant in its own right, Daily Harvest’s debut at Costco will go down as one of the many milestones in latter’s bid for expansion. You see, last year only, the company launched multiple SKUs at over 1,000 Kroger Family of Companies stores, including Kroger, Dillons, Fry’s, Fred Meyer, QFC, Ralphs, Smith’s and Harris Teeter. As for this year, the company has already launched various SKUs at Wegmans stores on the East Coast and New Seasons Market in the Pacific Northwest. On top of it, it has also reached the San Francisco Bay Area through online marketplace Good Eggs. Building upon these moves is a plan on Daily Harvest’s part to establish a far-reaching retail presence for several products under its umbrella, including smoothies, fruit-and-veg packed pops, harvest bowls, pasta, and many others.
